TRUTH. Here is a picture dump of some serious and some silly outfits as of late. I've been going to a lot of goth nights in Boston with my partner in crime, Jenny. We get all dressed up and hang out with people who like to whip each other. It's fun, even though I'm definitely not the goth-est person on the planet. Oh well. We even go-go danced one night, which was an experience! :)

this is from go-go-ing.... we were supposed to dress up like Wednesday Addams... which is hard to do, when you're platinum blonde.

wedding outfit. This dress used to be a maxi dress (remember like last year when I originally posted it because I wore it to a different wedding? yay recycling.) but i shortened it and gave it a bustle. Still no good pictures of that part. Derrrr

i never write in this poor neglected little bloggy anymore! truthfully, it's mostly due to laziness but also due to the fact that i dress modestly and professionally at work, and let's face it folks, that's not something this blog has ever been about.

i have to cover all my tattoos at work which means in the summer a lot of 3/4 sleeve shirts and blazers and dress pants and trying desperately to pass off black jeans as suitable professional attire. i stay creative/sane y wearing the most obscenely strange accessories i can dream up at the time, but i generally find myself looking painfully typical. i'll get better at it i know, i'm just in a rut of trying to figure out what i can get away with, which isn't so bad save for the part where it makes some outfits a winner and others a disgusting loser never to be spoken of again. for example: maxi dress with long grampa cardigan - miss. perfect cropped mens trousers with slinky tee and huge heels and blazer - win. some i'll repeat, some... i'll to continue to drink away.

i'm going to try to get better about capturing the good ones, i'm pretty awful at remembering to take a picture/being trusted to remember to actually editresizeupload them.

i'm much better at photobooth, which is godawful for capturing outfits with. even worse when you live in the batcave and the inside never sees the light of day.

i wish men would dress better.

why do they think it's so "gay" to look nice once and a while? wear a fucking cardigan and get over it.

dear men of the universe:
v-necks. they make you automatically 5x hotter, at least. and cardigans. also, oxfords [the shirt AND the shoe, although not necessarily together.] help. please realize that cargo shorts, graphic tees with sayings like "date rapist" or whatever A&F is selling this year, northface fleece and backwards baseball hats are not cool. AND WHY THE FUCK ARE SOME OF YOU STILL WEARING ADIDAS SHELLTOES??? seriously? god dammit. oh and also, don't wear your sweet distressed denim with dress shoes and a pink express for men button up... you disgusting creep.

oh and while i'm at it, here's a list of things us women need to get the fuck over:

-butterfly clips. seriously. why am i still seeing these? take them, and your man's shelltoes and burn them. it's going to be good for your relationship, i swear.
-chunky frosted highlights. do you really think this looks nice? it looks like you're still using hair mascara. take that wand, and go fuck yourself.
-ugg boots with leggings. really? it's fucking cold out. we're in new hampshire. those leggings are not keeping you warm. i promise. i'll give you the uggs, because like i said, we're in new hampshire and this shit is cold, but seriously. put on some fucking pants.
-northface fleece. it's my fault for going to college, but seriously... everyone at my school is wearing these fucking ugly ass fleeces with no pants and ugg boots. go.the.fuck.away.
-if your sweatpants say anything on the ass... you should die. as if brandishing your "bootylicious" status wasn't bad enough across your tits, not you're inches away from making it your brand new lower back tattoo. bad time, people, bad times.
-which brings me to my next point, if you have to wear a shirt that announces how "single and fabulous", "punk rock", "sexy" or whatever else you want to be today... you're probably none of those things. because if you really were, you wouldn't have to go about announcing it to everyone. the same thing goes for "kiss me, i'm ...." shirts. these mean either no one would ever want to kiss you, or you're such a whore that no one really even needs a reason to. so burn them with your butterfly clips and leggings. thanks.
-handkerchief hemmed "club tops". if you are not a fairy, and you are not stevie nicks, then you have no business wearing ANYTHING with that type of hem. and no it doesn't count if you're just really into fairies. seriously.
-bad haircuts, on purpose. no matter how ironic it is... it's still a bad haircut. so i'd like to apologize to anyone who went out and copied that girl from paramore's hair... jokes on you, bitches.
-dressing like a little girl is unacceptable as well. if you look like eloise and are not a fucking fictional character, then you need to go home and change. keep the bows out of your hair and off of your shoes and grow the fuck up. you're an adult, not a toddler. and it makes men think terrible things about you. ugh.
-white flip flops. if they are even a little bit dirty, you look like a gross white trash piece of shit. i think britney walking into that gas station bathroom barefoot would have been less forgivable if she were wearing gross dirty white flip flops, so please throw yours out. besides, it's november and you're wearing them with jeans and a winter coat. you look stupid.
-coach signature bags. i hate looking at your c's, and if you're from around here you probably got it at the fairview flea market anyways, so cut the shit. coach is fine, but get a classic plain one, not some terrible patchwork monstrosity. bgryfe
-also, those bags they give you samples in at victoria's secret when you spend more than $50 are not meant to be used as your actual purse. seriously. they're completely heinous and usually very.... gold. so leave them at home. or better yet, quit purposely spending fifty bucks to get a bag full of tiny pieces of crap you obviously don't want enough to buy.
-speaking of good old vickie's... everything from the "PINK" line that isn't underwear is disgusting, and if you buy it this means you probably enjoy being date raped and playing beirut until you pass out spread eagle on the floor and then post the pictures of it on your facebook so everyone can see how much "fun" you are.
-also also, those cropped elastic bottom sweats they sell [with "pink" written on the ass, of course, as if all the guys you know don't firsthand know where the pink is already...] are not ok to wear with uggs either. sorrrryyyyyyyy.
-oh, and if you think cory kennedy is at all cool, you probably dress like a moron.

most of this is from forever21 or it's vintage... inherited and thrifted. but this is a typical day's worth of jewelry for me. and that's not including the 2-5 necklaces i'll wear everyday. i'm an animal.

i estimate that my jewelry makes me 3-4 pounds heavier than i am, haha. on the wii fit it gets all confused when i weigh myself if i forget to take it all off, it thinks i got super hugely fat all of a sudden!

not quite fashion related, but today bryan and i headed out to the currier museum of art in our little town of manchester to see the last day of the andy warhol pop politics exhibit. turns out a former co-worker of mine was working there and she let me and bryan in for free! $20 well saved, which was later spent on copious amounts of fresco rice tacos from taco bell... mmmmm. no taco tom though, disappointing.

i also bought more yarn for more fashion related things, and a new bra. this would make anyone who knows me in real life gasp... little known fact about me: i never, ever, ever wear bras unless i absolutely have to. everyone in my life knows exactly what my boobs look like, minus nipple because i'm always wearing slouchy thin tops with just a tank top underneath, if anything. it's not that i'm slutty or anything, i just really hate the feeling of a bra around my ribcage... it makes me uncomfortable. i don't know how i ever did the high belt like i used to all the time, although the one i wore most was very stretchy... but back to bras. i don't know what size i am, i don't know how they're supposed to feel, i don't know why women like to look like they have huge tits... i just don't get them. at all. i like the way my boobs look when i'm not wearing one way more. also i feel like i look fat when i wear a bra? is that even possible? i don't know. i'm weird.

i'm abusing the ellipses today... hahaha.

this is the story of a magical princess (cue music) who loved a pair of shoes:

the princess loved these shoes more than any other pair of shoes she'd ever seen. more than the version they were knocking off, and more than the classic ones that cost twice as much and were around longer.

the little princess waited and waited until she got her christmas moneys to buy them, but ALAS! when she went to the website to excitedly place her order, the evil creatures in the forest had bought out every size that would fit her!

crushed, the princess sent out a scroll to the internet (aka livejournal communities) begging for help in finding these magical shoes to complete her every outfit.

a little cherub on the internet alerted the princess to amazon.com, which she had previously only used to by allergy-free cookbooks and textbooks for college and had completely forgotten sold cool things like hitachi magic wands and shoes, and BEHOLD!!! the princess' glass slippers were there, and in her size.

the princess put them into her basket for safe keeping, but she decided to wait until just one more check had been cashed to place her order.

when she went to place her order, amazon.com delivered the crushing blow, "We're sorry. The item Steve Madden Women's Flankk Boot,Black Leather,8.5 M US is no longer available from the seller you selected." DRAT!!

again, crushed, the princess searched ebay and zappos and every website she could find for her magestic wonderful glass slippers, to no avail. she found a few similar items, but the soles were jagged (no go) or the heel was too high, or they were too tall... the princess sighed and sighed.

someday, her ~~prince~~boots will come...

here's my most recent purchases:

i bought the shirt in both colors because i couldn't for the life of me decide which i liked better. but they were cheap, so i'm just planning on cutting the less worn one into a tank for the spring/summer. works for me! the jeans are completely fantastic. They've got side zippers and seams at the knees like biker leather pants and stuff! so cool.

i also purchased these boots:

which i LOVED, but sadly did much harm to my feet. as in, abnormal harm. i wore them for two seconds in my living room and the balls of my feet were killing me and the tops were pinching my foot right above my left ankle? it was strange and i knew i wouldn't wear them if they were like that. maybe if they go clearance i'll take another stab at them. but for now i'm happy with my biker boots.

my main goal in life for the next however long is to find these:
... except not $150. because that's just fucking insane. although, i'd wear them forever and ever even in the summer [how cute would they be with cutoffs and flowy dresses? yeesh.] i just can't justify spending that much money. oh well. i thought i found a decent replacement at baker's for $30 but they looked like rainboots which was very saddening. pout.

..this editorial in vogue last year that featured these incredible and ridiculous shoes. i don't remember designer names with shoes, but they were completely irrelevant and no one could ever wear them in real life. so basically, i wanted them really really bad. well, while procrastinating today, i wander over to lovemyshoes.com and saw these:

a total knockoff of the same shoe! same primary colors! same non-functional zippers and bits and bobs! same level of ridiculousness, although the originals look like they're made of legos... which you have to admit is pretty awesome.

... have kind of been my thing for the past couple months. let's share how:

firstly, that scarf up there is not new, but it's got tons of little holes and shit from wearing it too much, which is my favorite thing ever about it.

then there's that shirt... the first one i made.

then the shirt with a ton of holes i made, which is hamazing, btw. it's so soft and spider webby looking! customers at work kept commenting on how nice it looked, haha.
also featured, the pants with a ton of holes in them! i bought them like two days ago to replace the old black pants with legitimate holes that also ripped in the crotch the day my work got new denim and i was bending over like 300 times a day, and i had missed them ever since, so i'm glad to get my replacement back... even if it means ripping holes in new jeans haha.
p.s. i was singing along to rick astley and having waaayyy too much fun when i took this picture. especially since i was supposed to be borrowing bryan's computer for homework!

then there's the men's crewneck sweatshirt from work i made all flashdance, and then made all skullerific. it's a bit halloweenie, but i'm wearing it today anyways. consider me festive. i had to attack the shit out of this with fray check because the little threads inbetween the teeth were pulling out far easier than i had anticipated, this knit is a looser gauge than i anticipated, i guess. now it's all stiff everywhere i fraychecked because i put so much on haha.
i already had a tank top that i had done this to... i wore it to our metal party at the house a few months back, and i figured that since i liked it so much i should make a winterized version!

and my scarf i made! this is just the middle part of an old gap men's v-neck from 2003 that i stretched and shredded into a really cute infinity scarf! i love this thing. and "lol" @ that first picture of me, haha. wtf. my face needs to pay more attention!

p.s. how great is my new lip color!?!? it's 16 hr superstay, so last night i went to bed with it on and woke up looking like a million bucks. i bet tallulah bankhead would have done the same thing if she could've.

halloween 2k8, poison ivy. theme was dc universe. everyone looked so awesome but we forgot the camera so we have no pictures.

work halloween event. necklace is handmade, it's a bat. i finally finished that shirt, so i decided to dress up as a spiderweb? haha. it was a stretch but the shirt isn't dress code and i needed an excuse to wear it haha. better pictures of it to come, promise!

school outfit. i was sick so i wore this american apparel longsleeve for like 3 days straight. it's like a security blanket. it's so comfy!

wore this to hang out with the bff for the first time in forever. those minnetonka boots have served me so well for the past 2.5ish years... what a good buy. i wish this picture was better, this one got bryan approval.
wore this to go grocery shopping with mom. i'm not a huuuuge fan of it, but i think it looked better in person. and without the layers it was awesome.

soooooo, i don't know anybody else on blogspot really.... so i'm not going to specifically tag anyone, but if you're out there and you read this, hi! please to do my meme? fanks.

ok, so things about me:

1# - i am a messy person. it's not food trash, or anything gross, it's just clutter. craft bits and bobs, projects i've started but don't want to finish right now but if i put them away i'll forget in general, SHOES [i leave them everrryyyywhere], sweaters because i layer like it's my jobby job. stuff.is.everywhere. it drives the fiance crazy and i'm convinced that at some point i'll be living alone, just me my cats and my shit everywhere. let's put it this way: i have a room just for my clothes, and a room just for my crafting. yet, i'm typing this sitting in front of a table in my living that has my embroidery stuff on it, my jewelry making stuff, my yoga mat, my styling kit [what i take on photoshoots] and billions of other things. it's baaaaad.

2# - the reason for the first thing is this. i cannot remember anything. i have juvenile alzhiemer's or something. i don't know what is wrong with me, but i sometimes actually forget that i have school and don't go to classes... and sit around all day. i can go into a room to do something and completely forget what i was going to do, and then see something interesting and get all into that for hours before i remember that i was going in there to grab something important. thank god i'm reasonably healthy and i don't need any medication, otherwise i'd be dead. for example, today i woke up at 9:30 and when 4:30 rolled around i realized i hadn't eaten or drank a single thing. i am a mess!

3# - i'm convinced that there should be pickles on everyyyyyything. i put them in omelettes, in my salad, in my salsa... they're my favorite thing ever. i eat about a jar of pickles a week, but sometimes [aka most of the time] more than that. they're probably poisoning my blood or something and giving me the aforementioned dementia, but whatever.

4# - i am currently wearing a flaming red wig, ivy spirit gummed to my face, and giant red eyelashes that might be giving me a headache right now. i'm en route to being completely dressed as poison ivy, haha. jesus.

5# - i find rob zombie to be heartbreakingly, devastatingly handsome. i have no idea why, but oh man. i would bang him eight ways to sunday. sheesh. i love hairy trashy looking metal dudes. but not like, ICP dudes or something hahaaaaaaaew.

so i broke down and bought the scarfy cardigans in black and grey. i was originally more excited about the black, but i have come to realize [through the fact that i've worn it 3 days in a row] that grey is totally my favorite! they're so cozy and warm and perfectly draped.... i'm so happy with this purchase. AND, one was 50% off and one was 40% off! yay for employee discounts! :)

so here's some outfits i made with them, one not so lazy and one where i was most definitely being lazy [aka this morning] for my 9:30 am class. hence the boots. haha.

note: you can always tell how lazy i am about getting dressed by my footwear. i would never leave the house in sweatpants, ever... but i would absolutely wear slippers all day. and i do. on a regular basis. especially for work. so, you know, keep that in the back of your head and don't judge!
